High End Surface Cleaner

For wood, metal and concrete substrates.
Removes alkyd, acrylic, urethane, epoxy, polyurethane, stain, enamel, tar, adhesives and antifouling.

Doesn’t contain any dichloromethane

TexNov High End Surface Cleaner is an extremely effective catalyzed and non catalyzed coating remover. It will work on a wide variety of coatings such as acrylic latex, urethanes, epoxies, polyurethanes, alkyds, enamels, antifouling coatings and glues. It is very universal and can be used on almost any surfaces (some plastics might be affected). It is biodegradable, has a very low toxicity, is non carcinogenic and non mutagenic. It was developed to replace highly toxic and ozone depleting chemicals (i.e. dichloromethane).

Procedures

Wood and metal cleaning

1. No surface preparation is required (unless extreme conditions).
2. Apply 15 to 20 mils thick of TexNov High End Surface Cleaner with a brush. Coverage: 1,5 to 2,0 m²/kg or 16 to 21.5 ft²/quart.
3. Let work from 30 minutes to 2 hours (or until coating is ready to be stripped, often only 5 to 10 minutes) at a temperature above 18°C (64°F). The optimum temperature is 20 – 25°C (68°F to 77°F).
4. Wash with clear water
5. End with fi ne sandpaper or abrasive, such as "Scotch Brite". The surface is ready to be painted.
6. Dispose of paint and TexNov High End Surface Cleaner as per local regulations.

Concrete stripping

1. No surface preparation is required (unless extreme conditions).
2. Apply TexNov High End Surface Cleaner on the surface to be stripped with a long bristles paint brush, a carpet glue applicator or with an airless pump (ex : Graco ST PRO 495). The recommended thickness of TexNov High End Surface Cleaner to be applied is about the same as the dry fi lm thickness to be removed.
3. Wash with clear water
4. When the coating can be removed with a scraper, take off the plastic fi lm, and start removing the coating.
5. Once the dirt has been removed, clean the surface with a brush and an alkaline soap or cleaner. Rinse the surface with water prior to repainting.

Personal Protection

Engineering Controls:

Provide exhaust ventilation to keep the airborne concentrations of vapors below their respective threshold limit value. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are proximal to the work-station location.

When sprayed:

• Wear appropriate respirator when ventilation is inadequate. (Approved/certified respirator with organic vapor cartridges.);
• Face shield;
• Chemical resistant protective suit;
• Chemical resistant gloves;
• Boots.

When brushed:

• Wear appropriate respirator when ventilation is inadequate. (Approved/certifi ed respirator with organic vapor cartridges.);
• Safety glasses or splash goggles;
• Long sleeves;
• Chemical resistant gloves.

Try to avoid skin contact by wearing adequate equipment.

Storage

Store TexNov High End Surface Cleaner at a controlled temperature of 10°C to 40°C (50°F to 104°F). Keep away from any source of sparks or fl ames. Store in a closed container when not in use. Keep container dry. The shelf life of the product is three (3) years.
